As Lady Captain 2020 of Towneley Golf Club, along with our dedicated Ladies' Committee, I extend a warm welcome to a club I am very proud to be part of.

We have a well deserved reputation for an outstandingly beautiful and well maintained parkland course, thanks to our amazing green staff team.

Our ladies' section are very friendly and supportive of all our events. We offer a warm welcome to new members and visitors and aim to be inclusive and encouraging.

This year is extraordinary due to the Covid 19 pandemic and as with other clubs, we have had to close until such time as the government deems it safe to retum to our lovely game.

Normally our diary would be packed with competitions; ladies' opens, any combination open, mixed opens, which we enjoy playing with our male members, the LLCGA Handicap Shield matches, home and away and our regular away days and social events.

Ladies' major competition days are Sundays and we also run a number of medal competitions on Wednesday mornings, which is also when our ladies regularly play. Additionally, there is a Tuesday Stableford competition for the men and the ladies to enter. And our ladies enjoy socialising in the clubhouse after our days out on the course. We can offer high standard catering from the Bistro 197.

My chosen charity this year is Alzheimer's Society, which I am passionate about for personal reasons. We had planned joint charity events this year with Mr Captain who's charity is Pendleside Hospice, however these have been put on hold for now.

I look forward to seeing you on the course at Towneley, hopefully in the not too distant future.
